What is a carrier extract?
Carrier extracts come from nuts or plant seeds which are used as the base to decrease the potency of essential extracts. Compared to essential extract, carriers are neutral and can be used by themselves or paired with other ingredients. While essential extracts are powerful ingredients, carrier extracts possess a particular array of benefits. Examples of carrier extracts include macadamia, sweet almond, and grapeseed oil which all work to “carry” the essential extracts. In this way, they can be used in a variety of aromatherapy and beauty concoctions. Carrier extracts don’t have an intense fragrance whereby essential oils are highly concentrated and have a strong perfume, making them the perfect pair to partner up together. This ideal blend together creates a variety of benefits, including improving skin tone, hair quality, and improving mood. Due to this extensive range of advantages, Grapeseed Oil has been primarily used in skincare, haircare, aromatherapy, and so much more!
